Classmate Blog Critique:

Throughout the semester I've really enjoyed reading all my classmates blogs over different topics but today I'm going to talk about a few blogs I thought were impressive. Especially since I know like most college students we wait till the last minute to work on these and it's even more impressive how well put together these blogs were.

One student's blog I throughly enjoyed was Desmion Owens as all of his blogs were different but he had great themes and topics. His first blog for music review was one of my favorite he did. He covered artist Ella Mai a British artist that hit fame in 2018 with her first hit Boo'd Up. I love the way Desmion words his blogs like his opening remark for this blog he said "This beautiful British songstress took over the world in 2018 with her sweet voice, catchy melodic hooks, and amazing sexual appeal to audience that fell in love with her instantly." Instead of a cut and dry worded blog post his review flows and is very easy to read. I loved how he put all the music videos in his blog but also took out the time to type out the lyrics and evaluate her words. Another technique he uses is trying to involve certain phrases that are popular with people our age and describes what they mean. However, the biggest appeal to me is his overall aesthetic with a personal touch to his blog with his background being an image of him with colorful large text plus his social media is linked into his blog as well.

Next I wanted to talk about Mary Alice Cole's blog which is one of the most visually attractive blogs i've seen. Instead of having the read more option like mine and other blogs she has rotating tiles that you can click on to view her blog. One of her blogs I specifically enjoyed was her television critique on Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias. Her blog shows how much she personally enjoys the show and backs up her review as she's well versed in the show. She starts off by saying "I have personally been a huge fan of Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias since my senior year of high school. I remember being in class, sitting in th back of the class, and watching Fluffy's comedy specials." I also enjoyed how she tells where you can watch the different shows that he does and describes his form of entertainment. Like I mentioned before I really enjoy the set up of Mary Alice's blog as it breaks the typical blog stereotype with its special design.

Finally I wanted to say that throughout the semester I think each student has done a great job showing their different interests and showing their personalities through their blogs. I really enjoyed getting to know them through their multiple blogs and writing styles.

Freeform's Shadowhunters:

Earlier in the year I did a television critique over the Masked Singer and here I am again coming to the world of television. This isn't necessarily a critique more of a way to showcase something that is one of my favorite series ever. The show didn't just come about overnight the whole series is based off the bestselling novels of Cassandra Clare. The Mortal Instruments books series has been around since the first book was released in 2007. Cassandra Clare has many other book series but this is her most famous one. When the books came out I was huge book nerd. I read every single book of the six book series and have even considered rereading them for maybe the fourth time. (I've kind of lost track) The series takes place in modern day New York City and follows the unusual life of Clary Fray who lives with her mother and as far as she knew her father had passed away in war. However, Clary's mom is keeping a huge secret from her  but on her 18th birthday Clary i...
