Instagram Models:

Does wearing fashionable expensive clothes and posting pictures of you in them for money sound like fun? If so you can be like the hundreds of Instagram models that are raking in the money for doing the same thing every basic teenager has been doing since Instagram's release in 2010. Obviously there are the top models in the world who actually walk the runways and work with top name designers. A list was recently released on upfluence.com naming the Top 50 Instagram Models to Follow in 2019.

It's no surprise that the #1 top model on Instagram is the one and only Kendall Jenner. Her fame started as being born into the number one reality television family, the Kardashians. Jenner is a regular runway model but uses her social media to boost her favorite brands, and of course to get a little more cash. She promotes top brands like Chanel, Versace, Victoria's Secret, Vogue, and Stuart Weitzman. Jenner makes cash for posting pictures of her wearing outfits from her shows, red carpet looks, and photoshoots. Typically she will post a picture and tag all the brands that worked to put her look together to give the brand some pub to her 107 million followers.

Someone a little less famous then one of the Kardashian sisters but still thriving in the social media world of models is Savannah LaBrant. She has 5 million followers on her Instagram account and started her fame off by dating a famous Viner (a video social media app). LaBrant has since built her fame by posting amazing beautiful photos on the application. Like Jenner she will tag and comment about the brands she wears and where her followers can find the outfits and then is paid for marketing their products. Being an Instagram model isn't alway necessarily clothes it's hair care products, makeup, and nutrition brands. LaBrant markets hair care vitamins called Sugar Bear Hair Care, and even was involved with the brand Secret deodorant for a paid partnership.

Finally I wanted to bring up someone less popular but still making money from her Instagram posts. Minahil doesn't do multiple brands she solely works with the well known fast fashion brand Fashion Nova as a curvy model. She has 188,000 followers on Instagram and is known for posting some scandalous photos. Although not as famous as the two I previously mentioned she uses the same tactic to post photos of her wearing the brand and is rewarded for her publicity.

I was curious just how much money the models make and how they charge. I did some research on how they charges work. Most brands tend to give money for how many follower they for example, some do $5 or $10 for each thousands of followers they have. Some however don't offer money instead they offer you free 'swag' from their company for promoting their brand. Different Instagram models will charge companies for them posting about their brand. Danielle Bernstein charge companies around $5,000 or even $15,000 per post. Some will even ask for an additional dollar for every like their post receives. It's crazy to think about how different people use their social media platforms to profit and bring fame to their lives. Next time you're on Instagram I recommend you checkout these models and many others to see just how they make their living.

Classmate Blog Critique:

Throughout the semester I've really enjoyed reading all my classmates blogs over different topics but today I'm going to talk about a few blogs I thought were impressive. Especially since I know like most college students we wait till the last minute to work on these and it's even more impressive how well put together these blogs were. One student's blog I throughly enjoyed was Desmion Owens as all of his blogs were different but he had great themes and topics. His first blog for music review was one of my favorite he did. He covered artist Ella Mai a British artist that hit fame in 2018 with her first hit Boo'd Up. I love the way Desmion words his blogs like his opening remark for this blog he said "This beautiful British songstress took over the world in 2018 with her sweet voice, catchy melodic hooks, and amazing sexual appeal to audience that fell in love with her instantly." Instead of a cut and dry worded blog post his review flows and is very...
